Living With Urgency

"Green" means? My husband preached a wonderful sermon this morning on how time is short and talked about how we need to have a heart of urgency and a passion to reach out to the lost and not be silent as Christians -unashamedly sharing Jesus with others. And to stand, no matter the cost -to stand up for our faith in God even if it's uncomfortable and even if we are the only one who is taking a stand for our faith. To, "GO."

There is a new movie coming to theaters nationwide 3/7/14 that may ring a bell, it's called, "God's Not Dead".  It is a film about several individuals whose faith in God is challenged and up against a world who believes God doesn't exist. I make mention of this film because I can't tell you how thrilled I am about it coming out! I want to shout if from the rooftops you guys! Because we all know time is short but recently it feels as though it has become even shorter. Turn on the news and you'll know what I mean.

What better time than now to have urgency? What better time than now to pray for a fiery passion to live to share Jesus with the nations. The movie, "God's Not Dead" should no doubt ignite a fire in your heart and inspire within you an urgency to reach out to the lost and broken around you. Wherever that may be. The link is here: http://godsnotdeadthemovie.com/ if your at all curious about this film and want to check out the trailer.

Willie and his wife Korie Robertson from the A&E show, "Duck Dynasty" are featured in this film.
For those of you that did click on the link above, my question to you is. Are you not compelled? If the answer is, "No. I am not." My friend, it's time to get your heart checked. We are living in a dying world that desperately needs Jesus like never before. Don't wait. Don't let another day go by without sharing Jesus with someone today. And do not think for one second that there aren't lost and broken people that need to know Jesus even within your churches. Friends, look around. The world is crumbling underneath you. Pray God gives you a heart of urgency today. A heart of compassion to reach the lost and to share Jesus with everyone.

What if it is her last day? Or, his last? Who can you think of in your life that you can pray for by name that is in need of a real relationship with Jesus? Don't only pray for those people but put feet to those prayers, and that faith and you go and do what God leads you to. Don't neglect The Great Comission Christians. It is what we are built to do. We are made to share Jesus with others. Don't waste another day. Get on your knees today -repent. Ask God to forgive you for your complacency. Pray. Urgently ask Him to remove your lazy heart and replace it with a heart of action, passion, commitment and urgency to reach the lost and win souls for the Kingdom of God.

Don't roll your eyes and say, "I've heard it all before." This is not just another rant. This is a call to you to take action. A call to you to not be silent. A call to you to share Jesus with the drunk down the street, or the church-going widowed woman in your neighborhood. Both would need Jesus just as much. When was the last time you shared the Gospel with someone in the past hour? This past week? Two weeks? A month? Since you accepted Jesus into your heart as Lord over your life? I pray the answer as my Husband put it this morning in his sermon would be, "I cannot count how many. I cannot count. Not because the number is just not that high but because the number is too high to even remember."

Does this convict you? Does this offend you? It did me. Sometimes we need to be offended. Sometimes we need to feel judged. You can't fix something if it isn't broken! Sometimes we need to become broken in the hands of God so that he can mend us and fix us. So that he can rebuild and reshape us to fit the mold he desires. It's called The Great Commission folks. It isn't easy. It hurts. It's uncomfortable. God never said sharing him with others would be easy. He said, ""Remember the word that I said to you, 'A slave is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also." It's in John. Don't get comfortable. Pray for a faith that looks foolish to the world. Don't be afraid of speaking the truth.

Christians, Stir up the enemies camp. The world is gonna' hate your guts for it. You bet. But never mind that -go out into the world in boldness and share Jesus with every living creature. Time is much too short to be silent another day. As my husband touched on this morning in his sermon -since the Church has been silent: Over 5 million babies have been aborted, empty philosophy and immorality have corrupted our school's youth, homes have been torn apart, divorce is on the rise both in church and out of church -there is no difference! It is high time for Christians to wake up, to stand up, to rise up and take back our nation for Jesus Christ. If we don't... WHO WILL? Who? Do NOT be silent.
