Experiencing God

Every week my good friend Christy and I get together and meet up at our house for a ladies Christian book study. This is a ministry that has just been started; so far the ladies attending are myself, Christy and her adorable little ones Maddy  4 and Maisy 2. Eventually I would like to see several ladies coming together and joining us. Christy and I are excited to see what God is doing. This is just the beginning!

Several  weeks ago my Husband Jon. handed me this Christian devotional book, "Experiencing God". He suggested I take the time to go through it in my personal quite time with the LORD. So that is what I did. I got passed the first week and instantly noticed a positive change in my Spiritual walk. As I continued on, every week just got better and better and it was really benefiting me however, I felt the need to share this new found joy and this study with others, like in a small group setting. (Which this booklet is meant for anyway). and one week as I was studying this booklet I came across a small box at the bottom of the page that enclosed a real life story/testimony of how God used this booklet to reach out to others. It was entitled, "From Death Row to Life Row", this title intrigued me so I went on to read what this was all about. It read: "God-centered living always affects other lives. Being certain God is always at work around you will affect your relationships with others. When Karla Faye Tucker was on death row in the Gatesville Women's prison in Texas, she became a Christian. Some faithful Christians led her through Experiencing God. Her life was so changed, she began to teach other inmates on death row. So many came to know Jesus as Savior, the women themselves renamed it Life Row because they came to know true life in Christ. Eventually, Karla was executed for her crime, but her testimony affected a nation and touched a world."
I read that and my first thought was, "Wow that gave me goose pimples!" My second thought was, I want to help reach out to others with this booklet as well! If God used Karla to help reach out with this booklet, then surely God can do the same right here! Karla Faye knew she was going to be executed, but yet decided to immerse herself in the truth of God. "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:32  What faith! not only did it set Karla free, God's truth being proclaimed through this woman and this booklet set free the lives of countless prisoners! The testimony of this amazing woman of faith inspired me to put feet to my faith and take on this challenge. By God's grace!

"To live a God-centered life, you must focus your life on God's purposes, not on your own plans. You must seek to view situations from God's perspective rather than from you own distorted human outlook. When God starts to do something in the world, He takes the initiative to reveal His will to people. For some divine reason He has chosen to involve His people in accomplishing His purposes." -Experiencing God

More photos of our first ever get together! It was such a blessing.
